Okay, Cassie is . . . interesting to Loki because she clearly has this dark side to her powers/something she is born with, something she cannot escape from and yet she is clearly denying it! While Loki did the complete opposite, to different results. He doesn't get her, doesn't get why she would flat out deny a part of herself. The rest of her, he does get. He understands perfectly that she needs someone to connect with, that she's desperate for friends, that she's projecting. All of this is stuff Loki can manipulate and use to his own means, so he hasn't paid too much attention to it. It's the "Witch" part that has him wondering what her deal really is.
Overall, he finds her to be a decent conversationalist and can rely on her to choose him over other people, which is his top priority. Beyond that, there's something akin to . . . like? tolerance? he tolerates her even though she gets on his nerves. For that reason, he lets it go more often than he would.
I really hope we get to do like heartgames or something later, so Loki (and other people!) can see that dark side of Cassie and why she pushes it away so vehemently, because being depowered in EC means she... basically doesn't have to worry about it! IT'S BAD FOR HER THOUGH because she's going to get used to not having to reign her temper in, which means when she goes back to her original body, she'll be ... out of practice ... :x
I saw the thread between Loki and Cap where Loki tried to make a deal with him re: his punishment. What would Loki think is the best end for him, at this point?
ANYTHING THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE HIM - LOSING HIS IMMORTALITY - SEEING ODIN EVER AGAIN - GIVING UP BEING KING
He's really desperate about the second one, though. He doesn't want anything to do with Odin until he has something he's proud of. Which ... he doesn't have.
Has anyone pointed out that you can't be king and not see Odin again in the same breath.
Cassie has loads of mixed feelings about Iota. She feels very protective of them, as anyone in her position would. As I've mentioned before, her loneliness causes her to cling on to people, so she accepts the idea of "team" very easily, because it's convenient for her! Here, a group of people to be loyal to and who'll be loyal to you! She's imprinting hard on them already because she likes the idea of belonging :x.
She likes Darcy a lot, she's a good girlfriend, but she feels like Darcy doesn't always take things very seriously. She hasn't gotten to know Thor or the Doctor well enough to have thoughts on them. AND THEN THERE'S LOKI. She's the youngest person on the team but she feels like the most mature person on it. She feels like everyone else is just looking out for themselves and isn't really operating on a team level, so she feels like it's up to her to keep things together. Which she's happy to do, but on some level she just wishes like she didn't have to be the adult for once. She wants to go back to the days when she lived with her mom and her mom was responsible and made all the calls and she could just rely on someone else to be the adult really. Those days were safe. These days are not.
Mostly she just wants everyone to stop acting like kids. Other than that, deeply protective.
On one hand, it's clearly a good thing, they can shield him when necessary, more points/survival comes better? So he's very pro-team because he can see the merits of having people on his side, and only on his side. At the same time, he feels he's being dragged down by them and he hates it whenever they argue with him. He doesn't understand why they even do that! THEY ARE A TEAM, TEAMS DON'T ARGUE RIGHT? He doesn't full get how a team works, even though he's outlined the pros and cons in his head. So far, he's written off everything Iota does for him, is for the team. So he holds very little regard for them.
That being said, if anyone hurt/touched his team. Loki would slaughter them :'D
Okay, so Loki still has a lot of feelings for Thor, despite whatever he might say. I think it's because Thor was really the only person who considered him and gave thought to Loki when Loki needed him to. But then Thor had a change of heart and started considering everyone else. Which drove Loki a little bonkers because he has always stood by Thor's side, no matter what Thor has done and he expected Thor to do the same for him. But Thor chose Earth! Humans! Mortals! Loki could not deal with that, not when he was making terrible decisions of his own and needed Thor to stand by him.
Seeing Thor again, even now, makes Loki feel terrible. Here's an immortal who changed, who got better, and somehow he's still better than Loki. No matter what Loki did or tried to do, Thor always came out on top. Loki can't even begin to do anything that Thor is capable of. He feels shunned just by looking at Thor because Thor brings back every single thing Loki's hated about himself. Thor is the favoured son. Loki is not.
Thor being comatose was not in the plans though, and Loki is a wreck. He doesn't know what to do, he doesn't know the first thing about mortal bodies, he's driving himself up the wall, trying to decide if Thor is doing it on purpose and freaking out that Thor might actually be dead.
Thor feels like he has absolutely no idea how to deal with Loki. He wants, more than anything, for Loki to stop buggering off down this STUPID GENOCIDAL PATH because Loki is smarter than that! Thor has always had a really great admiration for Loki's wits because that's not a strength of his, so he really doesn't quite know why someone like Loki would continually make such bad choices. Especially when Loki clearly seemed to know when THOR was making bad choices, even if he didn't say so. And he does still love him and consider him his brother, regardless of what race he is. THOR DUN CURR.
But! While he could forgive Loki's actions in Asgard, born out of shock/betrayal/FEELINGS, at the moment he really can't forgive what Loki did on Earth. He gave Loki multiple chances to stop, tried to convince him of what a bad idea it was, and it was just continually thrown back in his face. More than that, Loki keeps hurting other people, and that's not on. Thor could forgive it a hell of a lot easier if it was just Thor Loki was attacking. Innocent people, no. And when it got to the point where Loki stabbed him on Stark Tower, it was just... no. No, Loki, I am not putting up with your shit, no matter how much I desperately want you back. So Thor will keep trying, but he WILL draw a line, and he will make damn sure Loki knows where that line is. He won't hesitate to throw him into the floor again if he is endangering other people.
So ultimately he is really torn on the issue. He won't back down from the idea that Loki needs to serve a sentence back on Asgard (or at least somewhere), but he won't shut the door on reconciliation - if Loki works for it. He doesn't necessarily understand even half of what Loki's problem is, but damn he'll try.
Thor actually does die, clone dies, no new one comes through: what do?
Thor smashes every last inch of Aperture Labs to a fine dust (after getting everyone else out).
Then just kinda... stays in the wreckage for a while.
:(
Your take on Loki's relationship with the Jatauri (or however the aliens are spelled)? I got the impression from the film that Loki was kind of in over his head with them.
I suspect that Loki finally fell in with the chitauri and is, in fact, scared shitless of Thanos. So he basically stayed with them and did a lot of weedling until Thanos felt he had some entertainment value. He knew he was being used, that much is clear, what else can you do? He had no where to go and nothing else to strive for, except being King.
Okay so, Loki cannot understand anything Darcy says, cannot comprehend what the hell she's going on about and told Thor very clearly, she is now your fucking responsibility not mine. He doesn't like her because he doesn't know what to do with her and that tends to get on his nerves. That being said, Darcy hasn't actually done anything to him and she is still a team member which is enough to have Loki's consideration and not ... kill her violently. He still might! He doesn't like her connection to Thor and Jane, to Earth, to mortality really. So he tends to lump Darcy in that group. But right now, the fact that she's team means he will actually do (rarely) what she says and even give her the time of day.
I think when she said to Cap, "Yeah so he has a lot of feelings," that pretty well summed it up. She doesn't get him, and she knows she doesn't get him, but she doesn't really care? Like, Darcy is pretty much going to make the most of whatever situation she is in, and enjoy the people she is with, even if he s a prickly, genocidal assbutt. She knows that clearly he has no interest in being friends, but she has no interest in NOT getting along, so is going to continue to poke at him and fluff and him and generally be like HEY GIRL.
She doesn't even quite fully process the "Lead an army to conquer earth" thing. Because that's kind of big and she needs to be able to sleep in a bed like 30 feet away from him. She knows that he is a dude what had to many feelings and made some Poor Choices, and maybe those are things that should or shouldn't be forgiven, but she's just. Not really interested in relating to that.
To her, he's a prickly guy that's kind of being a dick, but probably is being a dick because he has so much shit to sort. That doesn't excuse his dickiness, but it does explain it.
I AM NOT SURE IF THAT MADE SENSE.
What does Loki WANT to happen, in regard to what do after robokidnapping?
- avoid odin forever - avoid odin forever - avoid odin forever - avoid thanos forever because omfg he's going to hunt me down!!! - conquer another planet - be king - destroy the avengers or watch them get destroyed - maybe figure out his identity issues idek
Basically, it's not something he's thought about, really. He takes advantage of opportunities but that doesn't mean he actually knows what to do with them.
I rather like that the minute the Doctor mentioned genocide, Loki latched onto him and then when the Doctor got goody, Loki was ... in actuality, annoyed and upset. I WON'T GIVE MORE THAN THAT.
Obviously he hates her (Loki hates everyone), but he's unsure whether he should forge an alliance with her and let everyone rot, or to play it cool and try and deceive. None of these options have much credibility because he hasn't seen her around or conversed with her for very long.
She finds him amusing! Really she's pretty pleased to have so many test subjects on the whole. She's not specifically excited about him much more than anybody else at this point, but she's a tiny bit interested in conversing with someone immortal like she is (well, moreso obviously, but she's still pretty durable), and is excited to see if he's gonna wig out and kill his team. She's hoping the answer is yes.
The horse thing is about 50/50. I do think it happened and Loki enjoyed trying out new ways of shape-shifting and what not, but I don't think he is so kind to think of it as his child. Not to say he's incapable of caring or sucks at kids, but he probably set out using this kid as a means and it never really registered. IDK it's a messy thing all over, but it might early Loki who was doing his best to conform to Asgardian standards or something.
